Teaching Exp: I began teaching English at Tuscarora in 2006. Prior to this, I spent 15 years in the telecommunications industry as a technical editor and designer/developer of instructor-led and computer-based training courses for adult learners. While attending the University of Maryland I served as a student teacher for the Women's Studies Department and a Peer Educator for the University Health Center.
A strong command of the English language, both written and spoken, is necessary for success in today's world. Universities and employers seek individuals who have the ability to express themselves clearly and competently, employ critical analysis, and demonstrate a strong work ethic. It is to this end that I strive to improve students' literacy and encourage responsibility.
